Valuations that show their working

A valuation on swomi.io will never be a bare number. It will say which published method produced it, which version of that method, and from what inputs.

What every valuation shows

Three things travel with every figure: the method, its version and the inputs. With those, anyone can see how the figure was reached and check it against the published method.

The first method: Graph Modeling for Valuation 1.0

Swomi publishes Graph Modeling for Valuation on contentsignals.co under one name and version, so that anyone who uses it can say which version they used.[1] Version 1.0 values the relationships an asset holds, such as its readers or subscribers.[2]

For each relationship it estimates what the relationship brings in each period from now on, counts each later period for less, and adds the results together: the relationship's lifetime value.[2] Lifetime value is a long-standing marketing measure of what one customer relationship contributes over its whole future.[3] The method then adds up the lifetime values across the whole graph of relationships, and takes into account how likely each relationship is to last.[2]

Versions

A published method changes only with a new version number, and earlier versions stay published.[1] So a valuation made with version 1.0 can always be read against version 1.0, even after a later version appears.

Graph Modeling for Valuation 1.0 is the first method. Any further method will be published the same way, under its own name and version.

Indicative, not appraisals

A valuation on swomi.io is an indication, worked out by a published method from the inputs it shows. It is not an appraisal, and it is not a promise of what an asset will sell for. Anyone relying on a figure for a decision should get an independent valuation first.
