How a sale will work
Every sale on swomi.io will follow the same route, from listing to completion. Only one question changes it: does a list of members move with the asset?
The seller lists
The owner of the asset, or the developer, author or Mentor who made what is sold.
Ownership is verified
Before the listing goes live.
A buyer buys
Then one question decides the route.
Does a list of members move with the asset?
Yes: an escrow sale
The sale goes through a licensed escrow agent. The list's members are told who the new owner is.
or
No: a direct sale
No escrow agent stands between buyer and seller.
The sale completes
A fee is charged now, and only now.
The seller lists
The seller is whoever owns what is sold or made it: a Member selling a website or a whole online business, a developer or author selling an app or module, or a Mentor selling a service. Selling on swomi.io sets out each kind.
Ownership is verified first
Before a listing goes live, swomi.io verifies that the seller owns what they are selling. A listing whose ownership cannot be verified does not go live.
Escrow, when a list of members moves
Some assets come with people: a newsletter's subscribers, a mailing list, a site's user accounts. When a list like that moves with an asset, the sale goes through a licensed escrow agent.
An escrow agent is a third party that receives and pays out money or property for a buyer and a seller, on conditions the two have agreed.[1] Online, escrow places the payment under the control of an independent, licensed third party, to protect both sides.[1]
The list's members are told who the new owner is, so the people on the list know who now holds their details.
Direct sales
Every other sale is direct: no escrow agent stands between buyer and seller. The other rules stay the same. The seller lists, ownership is verified before the listing goes live, and the fee is charged only when the sale completes.
The fee
A fee is charged only when a sale completes. Fees are published in the Fee Schedule before swomi.io opens.
Until then this site gives no fee figures, and nothing on it is a price.
What swomi.io does not sell
Physical goods. swomi.io is for digital assets, apps and modules, and Service Mentor services.
